The Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector stands out due to its faster charging speed, seamless integration with other vehicles, sleek design, easy installation process, enhanced safety features, and reliable customer support. Its overall package offers a superior charging experience compared to other EV chargers in the market.

The Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector uses a standard Type 2 connector, which will fit and charge any other EV Car.

The Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector comes with a limited warranty. The standard warranty for the Gen3 Wall Connector is 1 year from the date of purchase.

During the warranty period, Tesla will repair or replace the Wall Connector if it is found to have defects in materials or workmanship under normal use. The warranty provides coverage for any manufacturing-related issues that may arise during the first year of ownership.

With the Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector, you can easily schedule charging for your EV using the Tesla mobile app. Here’s how to schedule charging:

  1. Download the Tesla App: If you haven’t already, download the Tesla mobile app from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices) and log in to your Tesla account.

  2. Connect Your Tesla Vehicle: Ensure your Tesla vehicle is connected to your Tesla account in the app. This is usually done during the setup process when you first receive your Tesla vehicle.

  3. Navigate to Charging Settings: Open the Tesla app and go to the main menu. From there, select “Charging” to access the charging settings for your vehicle.

  4. Set Charging Schedule: In the charging settings, you will find options to schedule charging. You can set a specific time for charging to start and stop each day. For example, you can set it to start charging at midnight and stop at 6 am to take advantage of lower electricity rates during off-peak hours.

  5. Save Your Preferences: After setting your desired charging schedule, save the changes in the app. Your Tesla vehicle will now follow the scheduled charging routine automatically.

  6. Monitor Charging Schedule: You can monitor and modify the charging schedule as needed from the Tesla app. If you wish to make changes to the schedule, simply access the charging settings and adjust the charging start and stop times accordingly.

By scheduling charging with the Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector, you can optimise your charging routine to match your daily energy needs and take advantage of off-peak electricity rates, leading to potential cost savings and efficient energy use.

Yes, the Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector can be used with solar panels. The Wall Connector is designed to work seamlessly with solar PV systems, allowing you to charge your Tesla vehicle with clean and renewable solar energy.

When you have solar panels installed on your property, the excess solar energy generated during sunny periods can be stored in the Tesla Powerwall or sent back to the grid. By connecting the Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector to your solar PV system, you can charge your Tesla vehicle directly from the solar-generated electricity, further reducing your reliance on the grid and promoting sustainable energy use.

The time it takes to install an EV charger depends on factors like the charger type, location, and complexity. Generally, the installation process for an EV charger can take around 2-8 hours on average.

If the installation is close to an electrical source, it may take less time, typically 2-4 hours. Mounting the charger on the outside wall, connecting it to the power source, and testing are common installation steps.

If the installation is further distant from the power source, additional work such as trenching, laying wires, and installing electrical panels may be required, which can take up to 8 hours or more.

In the UK, most houses have a power supply called single-phase AC. With this supply type, the highest charging rate for an Electric Vehicle is typically 7kW, and that’s why 7kW EV Chargers are commonly used for charging EVs at home.

If your home has an AC three-phase power supply, you can install a 22kW EV Charger. With this charger, you can enjoy faster charging speeds. While a 7kWh charger takes around 8 hours to charge a car on average fully, a 22kW EV Charger only takes 3-4 hours. These 22kW chargers are commonly found in commercial spaces or modern developments. It’s important to note that not all electric vehicles can charge at such high rates on AC power.

The cost of installing a home EV charger in the UK might vary based on factors such as charger type, installation location, and any additional work required. Our smart single-phase electric vehicle charger installations start from £400 plus materials and VAT.

Yes, the Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector is weather-resistant and designed for outdoor installation. It has an IP44 rating, which means it is protected against splashing water and solid objects larger than 1mm in diameter. This level of weather resistance allows the Wall Connector to withstand typical outdoor conditions, such as rain and dust.

However, it’s important to note that while the Wall Connector is weather-resistant, it should be installed in a location that provides some protection from direct exposure to heavy rain or extreme weather conditions. Tesla recommends installing the Wall Connector under a covered area, such as a carport or a covered wall, to ensure its longevity and optimal performance.

There are currently no specific UK government incentives for installing the Tesla Gen3 Wall Connector.
